Shiny Beetle

This beetle is a 6 x 12 inch acrylic painting on a wooden canvas. I was inspired by the metallic look of some of the colourful beetles I have seen in photographs.  While the painting is a little bit abstract I tried capturing the shininess with metallic paints.
